Elementary School: 2 stages :
– The Fundamental Learning Stage (Years 1 and 2) and
– The Further Learning Stage (Years 3 to 5).
At the age of six, children begin Elementary school where they will spend the next five years. They learn to read, write, count, improve their English and use IT resources. They also spend time on artistic and scientific learning.
In the Fundamental Learning Stage, the focus is on developing language skills: French and Mathematics, as well as civic education and discovery of the world around us. Developing motor skills is also an important part of the learning process.
In the Further Learning Stage, as well as consolidating the concepts previously learnt, new methods are introduced to prepare students for secondary learning in Collège.
